IAAPA is adding three people to its 2020 Hall of Fame class, including a Disney Legend, Tony Baxter. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is recognizing his career and lifetime achievements at Disney theme parks.
Tony Baxter worked for Disney for more than forty years. His list of projects includes popular attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Star Tours. He’s also contributed to Journey into Imagination and the “Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye” attraction in Disneyland. Baxter was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2013.
The IAAPA Hall of Fame was established to honor legends and pioneers from the global attractions industry. It’s quite a prestigious honor be a recipient, and Mr. Baxter has certainly earned it with his contributions to Disney Parks! The IAAPA Expo will be held virtually on November 16-18 this year.
The former Imagineer and Disney Legend will be back as a Creative Adviser in the team that will reimagine Splash Mountain to “The Princess and the Frog” theme at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World and we couldn’t be more excited!
“The attraction will be one to be proud of” mentioned Tony. “I look forward to being a part of a new adventure in Disney magic and fun.”
Tony Baxter knows this attraction like no one else, so we are happy he is back on the project.
