Tokyo Disneyland Suspending Ticket Sales and Limiting Park Guests due to state of emergency

With the recent surge of COVID cases and with the government declaring a state of emergency in Japan, Tokyo Disneyland will be Suspending Ticket Sales and Limiting Guests visiting their theme parks starting today.

Here is the information posted on the Tokyo Disneyland website:

• Based on the state of emergency announced by the Japanese government and requests from local authorities, sales of Park tickets for admissions on or after January 9th will be temporarily suspended as we set up our ticket sales system. An announcement will be made on this website when Park ticket sales become available again
• Guests who have already purchased tickets and made reservations, or have been successful in the Park admission lottery at this time will be able to enter the Park.

So it seems that ticket sales will be halted starting tomorrow and they will be doing a lottery system to limit the number of guests entering the park. I would imagine if the number of cases keeps climbing in Japan if they will close Tokyo Disneyland again…

This warning posted on the website proceeds the announcement about suspending ticket sales and limiting guests.

With the reopening of both parks, we are implementing measures in accordance with the Amusement Park and Theme Park New Coronavirus Infection Containment Guidelines that were developed based on the government’s Basic Policies for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control, and additionally are following government agency guidance to give top priority to the health and safety of our guests and cast members in our operations.

We will be deliberate in our operations, thoroughly implementing health and safety measures such as controlled capacity through limits on attendance, limited visitors in attractions, shops, restaurants, and other facilities, regular cleaning and sanitization, proactively requesting guests to maintain social distancing, among other things.

We will also endeavor to promote health and safety by having the information filled in for the primary contact person when guests purchase tickets.

All of the cast members will work together to operate the parks so that guests are able to enjoy the experience. There may be instances in which we cause inconvenience to our guests but ask for your kind understanding and cooperation.
