Tokyo Disneyland Extends their closure due to coronavirus

Tokyo Disneyland will be extending their closure to April due to the Coronavirus according to posts on their website.

Here is the information posted on their website:

As a precautionary measure in line with prevention efforts taking place across Japan and in response to the recommendations of appropriate authorities, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will remain closed through early April out of consideration for the health and safety of our guests and cast members. We remain in close contact with related government agencies about the situation and will provide updates as the situation changes.


Please note that the Grand Opening of the new area in Tokyo Disneyland scheduled for April 15, 2020 is postponed to mid-May 2020 or beyond.

You might remember that Tokyo Disneyland closed at the end of February as a precaution to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

More details have been released about the closure as well below:

 

1. Special events, programs, shows and facilities that are scheduled to end or permanently close during the temporary closure period.

The following special events, programs, shows, and facilities will end or close as planned:

Ending on March 19, 2020

  • Very Very Minnie! (Tokyo Disneyland)
  • Pixar Playtime (Tokyo DisneySea)
  • Duffy and Friends’ Heartwarming Days (Tokyo DisneySea)

– Special event merchandise and menu items with souvenirs will be made available after the special event period has ended. Information on sales period, location and method will be posted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website as soon as it becomes available.

Closing on March 25, 2020

  • Fantasmic! (Tokyo DisneySea)

Closing on March 31, 2020

  • Lilo’s Luau & Fun (Tokyo Disneyland)
  • Jungle Rhythms (Tokyo Disneyland)
  • Robo Astro (Tokyo Disneyland)
  • Ariel’s Greeting Grotto (Tokyo DisneySea)

2. Special events and programs that were scheduled to begin during the temporary closure period.

To be determined

  • Disney Easter (Tokyo DisneySea)
  • CookieAnn’s Greeting Drive (Tokyo DisneySea)

– Details will be announced after the Park reopens.

3. Regarding Park tickets during the period of temporary Park closure

(1) Unused Park tickets affected by the temporary Park closure

Eligible Tickets:

  • Fixed date tickets with a Park admission date from February 29 to May 31, 2020.
  • Park tickets with an expiration date within the period from February 29 to May 31, 2020.
  • Campus Day Passports with fixed admission period from January 6 through March 19, 2020.
  • Corporate Program “Thanks Festival” Passports with fixed admission period from January 6 through March 19, 2020.

The expiration date of Annual Passports will be extended (this also applies to Annual Passport Vouchers and Annual Passport Exchange Certificates). Information will be posted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website as available.

If you purchased a Park ticket from one of the locations below, please use the webform. 

  • Tickets purchased from Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservations & Tickets website.
  • Tickets purchased at a Disney Hotels, Tokyo Disney Resort Official Hotels, Tokyo Disney Resort Partner Hotels, Tokyo Disney Resort Good Neighbor Hotels, or the Disney Store
  • Tickets purchased at the ticket booths at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea

Ticket refunds will be accepted.
Ticket changes will also be accepted without a fee, or charge resulting from the price difference, to a ticket valid for admission until March 31, 2021. Please note the exchanged tickets will not be valid on dates when Park admission is being restricted.

To request ticket refunds or changes in advance, please fill out the required information in the web form which will be available by March 19, 2020.

If you purchased a Park ticket from one of the locations below, please contact the location where the ticket was issued:

  • Travel agencies
  • Some convenience stores (please refer to the issuing location indicated on the Park ticket)

Please note that the handling of your ticket will be partially different from the description above.

(2) Ticket Sales

  • As of March 11, 2020, sales of fixed date tickets will be suspended.
    Information regarding when tickets will go on sale again will be posted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website as soon as it becomes available.
  • Sales of tickets without a fixed date and sales of Annual Passports will continue.
    – Annual Passports purchased through the Tokyo Disney Resort Reservations & Tickets website by March 31, 2020, will be available at pre-revision prices. The website may be congested.
    Please allow sufficient time for purchasing.

4. Guests with Vacation Package reservations

  • If you are currently visiting Tokyo Disney Resort as part of a Vacation Package, please visit this PC or mobile website.
  • If you have Vacation Package reservations that begin on any date from February 29 through March 15, 2020, please visit this PC or mobile website.
  • If you have Vacation Package reservations that begin on any date from March 16 through March 31, 2020, please visit this PC or mobile website.
  • If you have Vacation Package reservations that begin on any date from April 1 through May 31, 2020, please visit this PC or mobile website.

As of March 11, 2020, new reservations will not be accepted.
Information regarding when reservations can be made will be posted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website.

5. Guests with reservations for show restaurants, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (-Tokyo Disneyland World Bazaar / -Tokyo Disneyland Hotel), or Guided Tours

All reservations will be canceled. Your credit card will be refunded any deposit or advance fees paid at the time of reservation. Please visit this PC or mobile website.

As of March 11, 2020, new reservations will not be accepted.
Information regarding when reservations can be made will be posted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website.
