Magic is Back..

It’s a whole new chapter for Storybrooke as Once Upon a Time: The Complete Second Season is released on Blu-ray August 13th.

Having become a fan of Storybrooke during the second season I caught up the whole series on Netflix a couple months before the third season came out. So when our good friends at ABC studios asked if anyone wanted to volunteer my hand shot up quicker than Snow White’s arrow.  I got to watch all 22 episodes on HD Blu-ray and I have to say, it was amazing ! The special effects and the story even, are so much more on this version.

It also comes with a new feature, Season Play. Exclusively on Blu-ray, it allows you to keep track of what episode you are watching. You can create a personalized profile for each member of the family and it will automatically remember where you left off, even if you eject the disc and come back later.

Synopsis:

“Relive every thrilling moment of the fairy tale-inspired series casts it’s tantalizing spell onto Blu-ray/DVD. The curse is broken, magic has arrived, and there’s no telling what – or who – will be unleashed! now the exiled fairy tale characters must grapple with a flood of awakened memories as they come to grips with their new reality. Old loyalties will be tested, new heroes will emerge, and vengeful villains will wreak havoc. Amidst the backdrop of previously unexplored lands and a newly magical Storybrooke, love and sacrifice will set the stage for the ultimate battle between good and evil.”

Talent/Cast:

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Bonus Features:

Good Morning Storybrooke – Wake up with Hart Archer and Goldie Locksley as anchors of  Storybrooke’s morning news show. It’s very well done, and quite entertaining.

A Fractured Family Tree – The intertwined lives of the residents of Storybrooke are explained and narrated by Sarah Hyland of ABC’s Modern Family.

Sincerely, Hook – A candid interview with Colin O’Donoghue as he talks about how he “becomes” Captain Hook, the research he did and the fun he has with it.

Girl Power- The cast and crew talk about how they have brought fairy tales into the 21st century with changing the perception of the woman in the show. They show the stronger side of all these characters, the woman don’t just sit around and wait for the men rescue them.

The Fairest Bloopers of Them All – Some great behind scenes bloopers and outtakes from the whole gang of Storybrooke.

Deleted Scenes – A glimpse at the scenes that didn’t make the final cut. (Me personal favorite, Captain Hook and the Jello!!)

Audio Commentaries – Join the cast and crew as they share details about what it was like to make each spellbinding episode come to life.

This 5-disc box set is a must own for anyone that is a fan of Storybrooke. I really enjoyed the bonus features and the new appearance of it in high-def, so much so I am probably going to run  out and buy the first season on HD Blu-ray. It is a definite addition to any collection.

  1. I really enjoy this show! I love how it is family friendly too and I love the new twists that they add to each story.

  2. I believe this is one of the cleanest shows in prime time television. THANK YOU! We finally have a show the entire family can enjoy!

  3. Love the idea of Season Play – our family is working through Season 1 right now, and that would have been great to keep track of where everybody is!!

  4. OOOO! Well theres another set to add to my collection. Can’t wait for the Alice and Wonderland season to start!
