The Tigger Movie Bounce-A-Riffic Special Edition Review

The Tigger Movie Bounce-A-Riffic Special Edition Review

The Tigger Movie Bounce-A-Riffic Special Edition focuses on the loveable Tigger as he comes to realize that “being the only one” isn’t so great and embarks on a search to discover his “family tree.” This special edition includes the film version on both Blu-ray and DVD, in addition to some special features.

The Tigger Movie features all of the characters we know from the Hundred Acre Wood; but there seemed to be something lacking. Perhaps I am partial to the original Winnie the Pooh shorts released back in the sixties, or even the series from the 90s, but the animation seemed a little too clean and the film resorted to extra gags from the characters instead of earning chuckles from the characters’ naivety.

I will say that The Tigger Movie certainly didn’t lack in emotion. While it’s zany and sweet as any children’s movie should be, Tigger’s struggle to find his family and realizing that he had them the whole time really pulls at the heartstrings!

I think that kids, which is this film’s target audience, will enjoy the film, especially since it’s centered around the loveable, energetic Tigger. So for the parents who have Winnie the Pooh fans at home, this may be a good addition to the movie library.

The special features? Well, as an adult, I did enjoy “A Tigger Tale” documentary which featured talks between individuals who helped make this film a reality, including Richard Sherman from the legendary Sherman Brothers. Also, the Kenny Loggins music video of “Your Heart Will Lead Your Home” was bittersweet in its sentimental message.

The special features that are aimed at the kids include “Round my Family Tree” Sing-Along and Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Shorts. However, these shorts were not original but simply scenes taken from the movie. I didn’t really see the point in that.

An additional bonus in this special edition is an activity kit with unfolds into a family tree. There are also Winnie the Pooh stickers with write-in space for kids to fill in their own family names. Now they can make their own family tree as Tigger discovers his! This craft is actually really cute and a great bonus.

Overall, in my opinion, The Tigger Movie Bounce-A-Riffic Special Edition was not as great as it could have been, but it still lets its viewers visit with some of our favorite characters for a while.

What do you think? Would you purchase The Tigger Movie?
