Three New Castings Announced for the ‘Turner & Hooch’ Disney+ Series. Drake & Josh star, Josh Peck, has been cast as US Marshall Scott Turner for a reboot series of the 1989 film, Turner & Hooch. The role originally played by Tom Hanks, followed Scott Turner, a US Marshall who’s only witness and lead to solving a mysterious murder is the victims dog.
The film was originally adapted for a television series in the 90’s, but was ultimately shelved by NBC and Touchstone Television. This revival comes as a bit of a happy surprise for fans, who are interested to see how the story will develop in a new day and age, with a similar plot point and new cast. Speaking of the new cast, check out the recent additions to the Turner & Hooch Disney+ Series: Matt Hamilton (The Actress Diaries), Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica) and Cristina Rosato (Little Italy).
According to Deadline:
“Hamilton plays Trent Havelock, Senior Deputy Marshal to Scott Turner. The only thing he loves more than chasing down bad guys is taking credit at the press conference afterwards. He gets all the fame, all the glory, and all the great cases — everything Scott thinks he wants. And he doesn’t much like dogs.”
“Campbell portrays Grady Garland, Laura Turner’s ex-husband and Matthew’s father. He’s a well-meaning small-town cop who peaked in high school and at this point probably has more in common with his 8-year-old than his ex.”
“Rosato plays Olivia, Xavier Watkins’ fiancée. An Oakland cop from the Midwest, she’s warm, earnest and enthusiastic — seemingly the complete opposite of her enigmatic soon-to-be husband.”
The Turner & Hooch series also stars: “Carra Patterson as Jessica Baxter, Scott’s brave, street-smart partner; Brandon Jay McLaren as Xavier Wilson, a cool, enigmatic Marine-turned-marshal; Anthony Ruivivar as Chief James Mendez, Scott’s boss with a secret soft spot for Scott’s new dog, Hooch; Lyndsy Fonseca as Laura Turner, Scott’s sweet, animal-loving sister; Jeremy Maguire as Matthew Garland, Laura’s dog-loving son; and Vanessa Lengies as Erica Mouniere, the quirky head of the U.S. Marshals’ dog-training program. Five French Mastiffs also star as Hooch, Scott’s slobbery, lovable dog.”
