Piglet the puppy and Piglet from Winnie the Pooh look a lot alike

Oh d-d-dear. Get ready to have your heart stolen by a pup so adorable that A.A. Milne himself could have put him in a book. In fact, that’s where his family found the perfect name for him: Piglet. This Piglet is deaf and blind, but he doesn’t let that hold him back from living a happy and fulfilling life!

Piglet’s owner Melissa is a veterinarian. She fostered Piggy (as his family now refers to him) when he was just a tiny two-pound pup. His resemblance to the classic childhood character was undeniable with his pinkish tone, big ears, and upturned snout. Melissa worked to train him as a companion, using techniques like tapping and establishing a routine. They formed an unbreakable bond and Melissa decided to keep him. She tells their happy “tail” in her new hardback book “Piglet: The Unexpected Story of Deaf, Blind, Pink Puppy and His Family.” You can check it out on Piglet’s very own website.

This sweet and spicy Piggy pup also has a growing following on social media. On Facebook and Instagram, Piglet is finding some fame. And it’s no wonder since he is a vivacious and funny fellow! He certainly doesn’t let any disabilities hold him back. That’s where he and the other Piglet differ a bit: Piggy isn’t afraid of anything!

We’re so glad for Piglet and his family to have found happiness together. He may be blind and deaf, but he knows a lot about matters of the heart already. And he probably already understands that old Piglet quote: “The things that make me different are the things that make me.”
