Universal has announced the themed lands that will be included in the Texas based Universal Kids Resort

Opening in Frisco in 2026, Universal Kids Resort is the first Universal theme park specifically designed for families with young children. “We wanted to design a place especially for kids where they could explore, imagine and adventure with their families and friends,” shares Sarah Gibbon, VP & Executive Producer, Universal Creative. “They’ll be able to do all this while being fully immersed in some of their favorite stories—ones full of curiosity, laughter and joy.”
Imagine ogre-sized fun in DreamWorks’ Shrek-themed swamp, complete with a fantastical playground built by everyone’s favorite green ogre himself. Laughter echoes among the towering trees as kids stomp, ride, and play in celebration of friendship, family, and love.
Over in Bikini Bottom, the wacky world of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants invites guests to earn a boating license with SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy Cheeks, or soak up some sun at Goo Lagoon Beach. It’s all the nautical nonsense you know and love—just a few steps away.
And if you’re looking for mischief, say hello to Illumination’s Minions. A peaceful vacation retreat has been overrun by these hilarious Yellow Minions (and their unpredictable Purple counterparts).
