Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies arrested eight people last week on charges of reselling multi-day theme park passes. The two-day investigation ended Friday and involved the sheriff’s Tourist Policing Unit and Community Response team, records show.
The sheriff’s office typically works with theme park security officers who identify businesses illegally selling multi-day passes, buy the tickets and turn them over to deputies who make the arrests, according to records of past round-ups.
Last week, the sheriff’s office seized 471 theme park tickets and $2,168 dollars from four businesses in the county’s tourist corridor along West U.S. Highway 192. The eight defendants were charged with resale of multi-day tickets. Two also were charged possession of small amounts of marijuana, records show.
