The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel is just one among 54 Starwood hotels that have been affected by a recent data breach. They said they found malware in their systems that are used for processing payments at the hotel, this includes restaurants, shops, bars etc. However, the front desk payment processing was not affected by the breach.
The Walt Disney World Swan Hotel was not affected by this data breach.
The data breach at the Dolphin hotel happened between November 5, 2014 and April 13, 2015. They said the malware exposed card numbers, security codes, names and expiration dates from the cards. Contact info and pin numbers were not exposed. Their loyalty program was not affected. Starwood has said the malware has been removed.
Starwood is telling people to check their credit report if they have visited the affected hotels. If you have been affected Starwood will get All Clear ID to provide credit monitoring services and protection for one year.
