The next “Star Wars: Galactic Nights” at Hollywood Studios launches on May 27. Today, we are getting a preview of some of the experts scheduled to appear at the “Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” panel discussion. This year’s panel will be hosted by actor David Collins with special members of the Walt Disney Imagineering team making appearances as well. Guests at the panel discussion will be the first to learn details about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge design and development process including exciting new details about the Land and how Imagineers are working around the clock to bring elements of “Star Wars” to life. In addition, Guests of the panel will be the first to see new photos of the progress of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, learn details about the planet Battu, and more!
The list of panelists is as follows:
Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering – Scott is in charge of all things “Star Wars” when it comes to Disney Parks. In addition to the Parks, Scott oversees “Star Wars” content across all lines at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts including merchandise, food, beverage, marketing, and operations.
Eric Baker, Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering – Eric’s responsibilities lie with creating and developing stories and places for Disney Parks and other Disney venues and bringing them to life. You will know some of Eric’s work if you have ever visited Tortuga Tavern, the Haunted Mansion and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.
Jon Georges, Executive Producer, Walt Disney Imagineering – Jon has been with Walt Disney Imagineering over 30 years. During that time, he has produced many projects around the world including the recent refurbishments to Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. Jon is currently working to bring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios to life.
Margaret Kerrison, Managing Story Editor, Walt Disney Imagineering – Margaret stays busy keeping the entire direction of the “Star Wars” portfolio in the right direct by guiding and managing “Star Wars-themed” story initiatives throughout all the Disney lands, resorts, and attractions. Margaret works closely with other Imagineers and LucasFilm to make sure there is one cohesive front. Margaret’s book of work includes Hyperespace Mountain at Disneyland and the Grand Avenue in Hollywood Studios.
In addition to the great lineup of talent above, “Star Wars” actor Warwick Davis is back as the official “Star Wars: Galactic Nights” event host. Guests can spot Jon at various appearances throughout the night including during the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Jon appears is several “Star Wars”films including the soon-to-be released “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
The final set of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge trading cards will be available for Guests exiting the event at the end of the night.
“Star Wars: Galactic Nights” will be held from 7 pm to midnight and will celebrate the entire “Star Wars” collection including “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” The event features entertainment, special photo opportunities, event-exclusive merchandise, unique food and beverage, interactions with rarely seen characters, and much more!
