The Bambi voice actor visited the characters 50th anniversary statue recently at Walt Disney World
The 50th anniversary celebration brought the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection to the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. Recently Donnie Dunagan, who voiced Bambi in the original film, visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom to get a first-hand look at the golden statue dedicated to Bambi and Thumper.

Dunagen voiced Bambi in the 1942 film, which continues to delight fans of all ages to this day. He traces his roots with the Walt Disney Company back to days spent touring Disneyland with Walt and, at just 7 years old, as the voice of Bambi.

As an adult, Donegan would go on to serve in the United States Marine Corps, where he enjoyed a highly decorated career that included being nominated for the Medal of Honor earning two Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars and three Purple Heart Awards. Throughout his service in the Marine Corps, Donegan kept the fact he was the voice of Bambi a secret from those he served with.
