‘The Mandalorian’ Star Claims Gina Carano Was His Favorite Cast Member. During the FAN EXPO Denver event, The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) shared that his favorite co-star on The Mandalorian was Gina Carano despite the personal beliefs of the actress that got her fired from the series after Season 2.
“I have to say, and this may be… Okay, I’ll say it without hesitation: Gina Carano,” Giancarlo Esposito told the eager crowd. “I’m not gonna weigh in on any of that in particular other than, any of her political beliefs or what she said, whether I think it’s inappropriate or appropriate or not. We as actors probably sometimes – I know for me – I should just shut my mouth. But sometimes I can’t. I gotta say what I believe because it has to go on record.”
He continued, “I loved working with her. She’s warm and beautiful and wonderful, and you know, I don’t care what her politics are. I love the fact that she came to acting late and that she was so raw and original and beautiful, and I just think she’s a lovely person. So I shout her out and say she’s one of my favorites.”

The whole cast of The Mandalorian has shared how well they bonded over production since the series was kept so tight-lipped in the industry to prevent spoilers and plot leaks, and now many members of the cast and crew have expressed a wide range of emotions following Carano’s public firing from the iconic role of Cara Dune. Lucasfilm has shared that Carano will not be replaced in the role, and there are rumors that the studio and actress are working out an agreement that may allow her to return for Season 4, but currently, Cara Dune will not be featured in the 3rd season of the series.
