The Magical Rides at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

There are five different rides in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter if you count the Hogwarts Express. Each are so magical in their own way and have pretty amazing queues as well! You get to explore Hogwarts and walk through Gringotts Bank. If you’re planning a trip to Universal Orlando you’ll want to ride them all.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a fun roller coaster that takes you through the vaults of Gringotts Bank. You meet some of the villains of Harry Potter and speed through twist and turns to escape. The queue for this ride is amazing. You walk right into the famous Wizarding World bank and see the Goblins hard at work. This is the only ride in Diagon Alley and besides the train the only Harry Potter themed ride on the Universal Studios side.

 The Hogwarts Express

Get ready to journey to Platform 9 3/4. Riding the Hogwarts Express is definitely something you’ll need to experience. The cabins look so much like they do in the movies it’s unreal. For this, you will need a Park-to-Park ticket or an annual pass. The Hogwarts Express is your ride to the other park. Pro Tip: the “scenery” is different each way so make sure to ride it both ways.

The Flight of the Hippogriff

The Flight of the Hippogriff is a fun coaster for smaller kids. It does give a great view of Hogsmeade while you’re on it. It is very short and I wouldn’t recommend waiting too long it. This ride is one of three inside of Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

This ride is one of my favorites, for the queue and the ride itself. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a motion ride that is like you’re flying on a broom. The queue for this ride is a walkthrough of Hogwarts. You go through the greenhouses, Dumbledore’s Office, and even the Gryffindor common room. It’s definitely a must for any Harry Potter fan.

Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure

Hagrid’s is the latest ride to open. It’s actually only a year old. This is a really fun roller coaster that sits you in either a motorbike or sidecar. Be on the lookout for all of Hagrid’s magical creatures. He has a lot throughout the ride. This is a popular ride so make sure to check the Universal app to see if it will be standby line or virtual line. This is the third ride at Hogsmeade inside Islands of Adventure.
