One of the greatest parts of Christmas at Walt Disney World is visiting all of the resorts. The decor is always top-notch, not to mention the intricate gingerbread creations you’ll find. Probably at the top of most patrons’ lists is the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House. It is a Victorian-style beauty, large enough to walk into. Due to COVID, this year we are sadly lacking that glorious mansion. However, we did discover something that looks exactly like it.
Head into the Grand Floridian Cafe for a look at the miniature version of this Disney Christmas classic. Honestly, if it were roughly 100 times bigger, it would be exactly the same. Except for one thing: it’s entirely made out of chocolate! According to a Cast Member, it took 8 weeks to make. The details are incredible!
Look closely at some of the photographs and you’ll clearly see some hidden Mickeys. Apparently, there are 22 to represent the 22nd anniversary of the Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort. Excuse us while we search mercilessly for the last 4 we can’t find. Little Santas can be spotted on the patio and the rooftop. Tiny shingles and little smokestacks crown this creative construction. And one detail is more endearing than all the rest: the ”carpet” underneath the house. It is undeniably the carpet in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. A perfect replica from top to bottom!
If you get a chance to visit some resorts at Walt Disney World this holiday season, make sure you stop in to see this adorable chocolate house at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It is truly a work of art!
