The Crystal Palace Has Reopened At Magic Kingdom

With capacity at Walt Disney World raising and more guests visiting again we are starting to see even more places open. The latest restaurant to reopen is the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. This restaurant experience is different than what you’ll remember, there are no characters right now and no buffet. We tried dinner last night and here’s what we thought.

Tables were spaced out and we saw plexiglass on booths separating two sides.

There is a contactless menu which has been the case at all the restaurants that have reopened. You scan it and it brings the menu up on your phone. They had us scan a Lunch menu last night.

They start out by bringing rolls and salad to the table to share. The salad and dessert are served family-style but the entree is not. You choose your entree from the menu.

I went with the Prime Rib. Here’s a look at both the adult and kid menus. If you look here on Disney’s website there are allergy-friendly options as well.

The Prime Rib was served with Asiago Potatoes au Gratin, Creamed Spinach and Horseradish Cream. It was very good but a lot to finish. I do want to note they do not let you take entree leftovers home. I was unaware of this beforehand and thought it worth a mention.

The final course was a family-style dessert platter. The dessert plate had: Seasonal Fritters with Powdered Sugar and Chocolate Dipping Sauce, Banana Cream Pie, Hummingbird Cake, and a Honey of a Cupcake.

Overall the food was good. It was $39 each and you could use an annual pass discount. (They did have us order off a lunch menu, when they start doing dinner pricing again it’ll be $55 each for dinner.)  I missed the characters being there, it was kind of strange eating there again and not have them there.

It is great to see more places open up around Walt Disney World and more people being able to return to work. We appreciate the cast members and everything they do.
