The Chip And Company Disney Week In Review For January 24th

I would like to thank everyone of you who stop by to visit with us at Chip and Company. We are growing by leaps and bounds and we owe it to all of you who take time out of your day to come to see us and read what we have to offer. Everyone from Chip (yes, he is a real person and that is his name) all the way through our staff of incredible writers do this for you and only you, the Disney fans around the world. There has been a lot of news coming from our friends at Disney this week so we will begin with several of those items.

  • Anonymouse was first on the scene again with the latest rumors on the Fantasyland expansion when she/he wrote Disney Confidential: Fantasyland Expansion – Say Good-Bye To Snow White and Disney soon released the actual information which Chip chronicled in What We Know About The Disneyworld Fantasyland Expansion.
  • Disney also christened the newest ship in their fleet, the Disney Dream and we presented the details in Disney Cruise Line Welcomes Newest Ship During Christening Celebration Filled With ‘Dreams’, You can see some more pictures and a video of the christening HERE.
  • In a little break from the news Chip and Company would like to welcome our newest writer, Melissa to the fold. We are looking forward to a lot of great stuff flowing from her keyboard!! Welcome to the group Melissa!!
  • Chris has been the answer lady this week by sharing her knowledge with Chip and Company readers who e-mail us questions. Her responses to the questions can be read in Ask A Disney Question: Disneyland To Get Rid Of Guest Assistance Cards and Ask A Disney Question: Using Old Park Tickets. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge Guru of the Mouse!!
  • Nancy, always on the lookout for new Disney experiences, gave us another of her great ideas when she told us – Want To Do Something New At Walt Disney World? Take A Tour!! Thanks Nancy I’ll probably give that a try in October!
  • O.K. I knew Anonymouse had been busy this week but she/he came up with three other fresh sets of rumors and told us about them in Disney Confidential – Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 and Miss Piggy News, Disney Confidential – The End Of Free Dining For 2011?,  and Disney Confidential – Disney’s Wizard Of Oz – Robert Is Out Johnny Is In! That’s an awful lot of juicy gossip for one week!!!
  • Lisa will save you a lot of headaches by reducing your kid’s meltdowns if you read and heed Rides To Miss With Little Mr And Miss. Nothing can disrupt a day at the theme parks like a child who has just been frightened out of their wits especially when it could have been avoided.
  • Chip has a planning series going and you can catch up by reading Disneyworld Planning 101 – How Soon Is Too Soon When Planning Your Vacation and the other articles in the series Do Magic Kingdom Last, Tips For Newbies, and Where To Eat.
  • Brenda had some great articles this week but I was especially taken by Brotherly Love an incredible view of the bond between Walt and Roy Disney. Also on her Keys To The Kingdom Tour she learned a lot about the placement of various types of buildings within the Magic Kingdom. Check out Keys To The Kingdom: Clever Park Design.
  • Our Fact Master, Jess, was at it again this week with her Guide To WDW articles. This week’s installments covered Space Mountain, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and Stitch’s Great Escape. You will find everything you ever wanted to know about these attractions there.
  • Lee was also super busy this week giving us One Guest’s View of Disney’s All Star Movies, Pop Century, and All Star Music Resorts. Thanks for sacrificing yourself by making so many trips to Walt Disney World so you could try all these resorts Leezer!!
  • Mike gave us an in depth look at Walt Disney World transportation options when he wrote Resort Transportation: Walt Disney World Transportation Methods and he also told about the One Ride I Must Ride at the Magic Kingdom. It’s one of my favorites too Mike.
  • Read about Disney projecting guest images on Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World and Small World at the Disneyland Resort in Guest Images Come To Life on Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Disney has themselves a rather unique race at Disney’s 2011 Expedition Everest Challenge. Check it out!
  • There is a video to see in Wild Africa Trek Safari Tour Overview at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It just might be something you want to try on your next visit.
  • Aljon, our writer of the Star Wars Persuasion, has some information the rest of you Star Wars junkies would like to know in  Liam Neeson Reprises Role as Qui-Gon Jinn In ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’. Thanks a lot Aljon!
  • If you are a snacker, you will appreciate Allies efforts in doing her research for Snacking Around The World. Thanks for sacrificing yourself in your efforts to keep us informed Allie!
  • Jennifer asks the question, Has Disney’s Hollywood Studios Lost iIts Magic? She also tells us about how she took the time (which we should all do) to recognize special Cast Members by filling out comment cards. She did this in writing Oh, How I Love A Good Cast Member! Those folks work awfully hard and deserve the recognition.
  • Debra fills us in on a somewhat unknown opportunity to make a child’s birthday extra special when she details Downtown Disney: Kid’s Birthday Parties At Goofy’s Candy Company. Sounds Yummy Debra!!!
  • Almost forgot – My Oldies article this week was Oldies But Goodies – Renew Your Childhood On The Carousel. Also there was  Disney World Quick Tips – Enhance Your Disney Memories, Theme Your Photos and finally, The Truth About Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort And Spa where I dispelled some myths and presented some of the pluses about our favorite resort.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to visit us and please feel free to comment on any or all of the articles so we can find ways to provide more of what you want and do it just a little bit better. As always, enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World!!

Ken
