There’s a rumor that Cruella 2 will be a musical and that Taylor Swift will star as the movie’s villain.
For starters, making the second Cruella film a musical makes sense considering Stone won an Oscar for La La Land. Many viewers agree that the music in Cruella truly defined the film and helped in storytelling.
The Cruella sequel was confirmed last July by Paul Walter Hauser, who played thief Horace in the origin story for the “101 Dalmatians” character Cruella de Vil. The actor revealed that the upcoming movie is due to head into production in 2023.
According to The DisInsider, the 32-year-old will antagonize the movie as she’s set to star in a role that is described as “Cruella’s match.”
Details of the role are still scarce as the site notes that the news “should be taken with a grain of salt.” However, the outlet points out that the casting news seems to corroborate one of Deuxmoi’s recent “blind items,” which claimed, “This A+ singer who has a minor appearance in Cruella (very tiny, you probably haven’t even noticed) might have a larger part in the sequel… “

The first movie is a live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howard’s End,” “Sense and Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
We will continue to post updates about “Cruella 2” when more information becomes available.
