Here at Chip and Co., we reported a few weeks ago that Walt Disney World has started offering a brand new PhotoPass experience in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland in celebration of the much-loved Disney film Tangled. This new PhotoPass opportunity recreates that whimsical scene in the film where Rapunzel and Flynn Rider watch a thousand lanterns being released in the night sky to honor the Princess’ birthday. The photo op allows guests to hold one of these iconic floating lanterns which will instantly make visitors feel like they are part of this delightful tale.
It was originally rumored that this dazzling new PhotoPass offering would only be available to visitors for a limited time only (March 15th was announced as the original closing date). However, we are hearing from several sources currently at Disney World that Cast Members are now saying that this photo op is here to stay.
Here is the official word from Disney:
This is a must-do for Tangled fans both young and old and for those trying to make the most out of their MemoryMaker package. The PhotoPass photographers offering this special shot can be found just outside of Rapunzel’s Tower which is located next to Its a Small World in Fantasyland. Guests should note however that this opportunity is weather permitting.
