Takumi Tei Opens in the Japan Pavilion

A new signature table-service experience has arrived to Walt Disney World, Takumi-Tei, which means “house of the artisan” is located in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot.

Immerse yourself in a true Japanese dining experience, where you’ll be able to dine in one of the 5 rooms, each inspired by a natural element, water, wood, earth, stone or washi paper.

Surrounded by the beauty of Japan featuring both its art and cuisine, here you will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring a traditional tea service.


Here are some of the items you will be able to find:

You can start your meal with a selection of delicious appetizers:

  • Teiten (which means “garden”): featuring compressed watermelon and tuna sashimi
  • Nikomi Wagyu: Braised wagyu short rib with roasted bone marrow
  • Hama no Kani (“Crab on the Beach”): Crab tossed in a light ponzu sauce as well whole toasted crab
  • Agedashi Tofu: Fried silken tofu, brown butter black rice and shimeji mushrom

For your entrée, you can choose between these two delicious dishes:

  • Kamo Rosu: Roasted marinated duck with kabocha squash, edame beans, Japanese mizuna, cured duck egg yolk, and a grape reduction
  • Takumi Gyuniku (asian beef): Japanese A-5 wagyu beef tenderloin with leek sauce, warishita, short rib gyoza, roast cippolini onion, curried potato, and seasonal mushroom

 

Takumi Tei sushi

Sushi lovers can also find some good options on the Maki Sushi menu:

  • Mozaiku: Tuna, yellowtail and asparagus
  • Temari Sushi: Chef-selected assortment of oceanic delicacies
  • Takumi Sashimi: Tuna, toro, salmon, yellowtail, uni and ikura

And of course, a meal couldn’t be complete without dessert!

  • Kumo: Yuzu cheesecake, spiced kabocha, orange yuzu gel and blackberry sake
  • Suiren Dani: Water Lilly Valley featuring Japanese water cake, rose, kuromitsu and kaniko crumb

Takumi tei drinks

For drinks, you will find an extensive beverage menu with premium sake, wine, beer and cocktails themed to each of the five dining rooms:

  • Kochi: Joto Yuzu citrus sake, rum, fresh mint, yuzu juice and orange
  • Raiju: Haku Japanese vodka, spiced ginger beer and lime
  • Sakurajima: Japanese whisky sour smoked with cherrywood
  • Kami: Roku gin, Sayuri “White Lilly” Nigori sake, calipco and lychee

 

Takumi-Tei is open for dinner starting at 4:00 pm. Walk ins are being accepted and reservations will be available beginning July 16, 2019.
