Disney Destiny Opens The Sanctum: A Spellbinding Doctor Strange Lounge at Sea

Ready your Sling Rings, because we just opened a portal, and trust us, what’s on the other side is pure magic. We’re currently sailing aboard the all-new Disney Destiny, and among our first stops was The Sanctum, Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever lounge themed to the world of Doctor Strange.

The moment we stepped through the velvet curtains, we knew this wasn’t your average shipboard bar. The space radiates mysticism and Marvel flair, with deep red and gold hues inspired by Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation (which is proudly displayed here!). Every detail feels cinematic — from the carpet pattern that mirrors Strange’s medallion collection to the glowing circular focal point behind the bar that mimics the Sanctum’s skylight, shifting colors as if pulsing with energy from another realm.

It’s Not Magic… It’s Mixology (Okay, Maybe a Little Magic)
We couldn’t resist diving right into The Sanctum’s signature cocktails — and let’s just say these drinks are straight out of the Mirror Dimension. The Circle of the Cosmos arrives dramatically inverted, with a lemon peel spiral that seems to float midair. The Mirror Dimension crackles with “electrifying dust” that actually tingles as you sip. Every pour feels like a spell being cast right at your table, complete with a touch of showmanship from the mixologists-slash-sorcerers behind the bar.

And because magic (and a little sugar) make everything better, we tried the Sanctum Waffle — a soft, stuffed delight filled with custard cream and mixed berry compote. If Doctor Strange had served snacks in Kamar-Taj, this would’ve been it.

A Spellbinding Lounge for Every Traveler
What makes The Sanctum especially enchanting is its versatility. During the day, families can drop in for creative crafts, trivia, and kid-friendly fun — but come evening, the atmosphere shifts into an adult lounge with live music and otherworldly vibes. Whether you’re here for the cocktails or just to soak in the immersive details, The Sanctum feels like you’ve stepped right into the Marvel Cinematic Universe — only with ocean views.

From the Cloak of Levitation to the glowing “portal” lights and magical mixology, The Sanctum is easily one of the most impressive spaces we’ve explored so far aboard the Disney Destiny. Consider this your official invitation to enter the multiverse — at sea.
