The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that a Florida lawmaker has recently put a halt to plans to replace the statue of a Confederate General in the U.S. Capitol with a new piece honoring Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, an environmentalist who played a key role in the preservation of the Florida Everglades.
