Hi everyone. I’m thrilled to start off the day by breaking another exciting announcement here on the Disney Parks Blog about two new Specialty Room offerings coming to the Walt Disney World Resort – health and wellness suites and Royal Guest Rooms.

Disney Parks Extends Special Offers for Military Families
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has a long-standing history of honoring military personnel and their families and today, we’re pleased to announce that we are extending our discounted theme park tickets and room rates for active military and spouses, retired military, National Guard and Reservists through September of 2012. This extension coincides with The Walt Disney Company’s participation in “Joining Forces,” an initiative launched by the White House to bring attention to the unique needs of America’s military families.

Star Tours – These Are The Souvenirs I’m Looking For
If I had a nickel for the hours I spent as a child playing with my Star Wars toys, I would be living on a beach in Maui right now. Luckily, my parents saved those toys (thanks Mom and Dad), and my son now spends hours pretending he is in a galaxy far, far away. Soon, he will have a few more toys (among several awesome things) to add to his Star Wars collection, especially with the launch of “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” on May 20. But wait! I get to photograph and write about merchandise created for Star Tours? Sign me up! After reviewing the more than 40 items we’ve created, I have selected a few of my favorites to share with you.
Hop and Drop at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
One of the more challenging holiday tasks for me growing up was finding my Easter basket; it was always hidden on Easter morning. Before I could enjoy a milk-chocolate bunny (ears first, of course), I had to find it hidden somewhere around my house. Somehow my sister always seemed to find her basket faster than me (don’t get me started about the Easter egg hunt!). For those guests who are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this week, I found some Easter baskets (pun intended) that are perfect for the holiday.
Pixar’s 25th Anniversary Weekend Celebration

Disney’s Grad Night is Cancelled after 2011
For many years, we’ve been thrilled to host high school graduation celebrations at Walt Disney World known as Grad Nite. And I know many Disney Parks Blog readers (like myself) have been part of the tradition – it’s become a rite of passage for seniors. That’s why today we wanted to share an important update; we will no longer be hosting Disney Grad Nite at the Walt Disney World Resort after this year’s event. With more leisure guests visiting in the springtime, it’s become challenging to schedule special events during April and May. Instead, graduates will have new opportunities to celebrate with us in the parks at more flexible and convenient times.
