‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ May Premiere on Disney+ for Star Wars Day

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘ May Premiere on Disney+ for Star Wars Day. Disney+ will be the place to be for Star Wars Fans on May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day!

To celebrate Star Wars Day (May 4th), Disney and Lucasfilm have come together to premiere two special offerings, the series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the premiere episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+, but what if the two studios have another surprise up their sleeve?

The folks at Inverse seem to think Lucasfilm and Disney may surprise fans with an early release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on the new streaming platform and we think that is an excellent idea! With so many special events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic it would be a welcome surprise to be able to stream ALL of our favorite Star Wars titles in one place.

Disney already surprised fans with an early release for Digital on March 14th, so an early premiere on Disney+ makes total sense. Episode 9 will have had nearly two months to make digital sales by Star Wars Day and would definitely lift spirits for Disney+ subscribers around the world if made available to stream.

There have been no formal announcements from Lucasfilm or Disney regarding the Disney+ premiere date for The Rise of Skywalker, we just believe it would be a grand gesture towards Star Wars fans who will have to enjoy Star Wars Day very differently this year.

Do you think Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker should come to Disney+ on Star Wars Day? How do you, your family, or your friends plan to celebrate all things Star Wars on May the 4th? What is your favorite Star Wars Day memory? We would love to hear your stories, ideas, and see photos in the comments.
