Star Wars Launch Bay is now open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Celebrate all things Star Wars and come face-to-face with Characters from the legendary space saga. Disney Cast members made sure to let the guests who entered the Star Wars Launch Bay that this was considered a “Soft” Opening. It does not officially open until July 17th. They also mentioned that when it does open BB-8 will be here to meet guests.
We did get a giant Wookie hug from Chewbacca, who made sure to spend a few minutes with us and had a great interaction with. Including Chewie’s handler who kept the conversation rolling. Then we met the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, who thought we may be Rebel spies and questioned us. He doesn’t really do hugs, so we asked him a few questions and felt like we should be on our knees suffering.
Few things to mention, both meet and greets do not have a photopass photographer, they utilize the “Box” which takes a picture every few seconds. We do not like the Box, so we used our own cameras.
The Cast members are amazing, the Characters are fun and we did not feel rushed.
