Could New Star Wars Stories Contain Clues to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge?

Could New Star Wars Stories Contain Clues to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge? Some new stories have emerged containing some major clues about what may be available in the new lands coming to both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, called Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.

One of the main sources of information is a book series called Flight of the Falcon containing 3 new books about the Star Wars Universe. Here is a timeline for how these new stories fit into the known history of the Millennium Falcon:

  • Solo: A Star Wars Story
  • Lando’s Luck (New)
  • Pirates Price (New)
  • Star Wars: A New Hope
  • Choose Your Destiny: A Luke & Leia Adventure (New)
  • Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

If you are interested in some other new stories about the Star Wars Universe you can also check out these stories when they become available:

  • Black Spire (Book)
  • A Crash of Fate (Novel)
  • Star Wars: Myths and Fables (Short Stories)
  • 5-Issue Mini-Series of Comics by Marvel (Comic Books)

For now we are going to focus of the Pirate’s Price from the Flight of the Falcon Series and the secrets it holds.

Could New Star Wars Stories Contain Clues to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge?

Pirate’s Price by Lou Anders follows along with Han Solo and Chewbacca and a character some of you may recognize from Star Wars:The Clone Wars and Star Wars:Rebels, Hondo Ohnaka. Aka the guy in the 2nd photo.

Hondo is a pirate who once was the leader of the Ohnaka Gang, a once feared group from the Star Wars Universe. Since the break up of the gang, Hondo has made his way in the galaxy by, well, being a pirate. Mainly taking ships, collecting credits, and causing some minor troubles for both the Empire and the Rebels.

During the escapades in Pirate’s Price, Hondo, Han, Chewy, and some of their “friends”, go on epic adventures throughout the galaxy. The stories themselves are very interesting and give us insight at some of the characters previous interactions that we have yet to see in the films. Avid fans of the franchise with keen eyes can see there may be a story between the lines.

The set up of the story takes place in Oga’s Cantina on Batuu. Sound familiar? That’s because Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is set in the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, and one of the announced Food and Beverage locations is, you guessed it, Oga’s Cantina! “Cool! What does that mean?” Well I don’t want to spoil the stories for you, but there are a few things we may get to try in real life that are referenced in the book. One of the reoccurring themes in the book is various food and beverage items including, by order of appearance:

  • Fuzzy Tauntaun (Oga’s Cantina)
  • Carbon Freeze (Oga’s Cantina)
  • Sarlacc Juice
  • Glowblue Noodles and Chav
  • Gamorrean Grog
  • Tall Blue Togruta
  • Tepasi Taffy
  • Blue Bantha Buttermilk Biscuits
  • Blue Bespin Breakfast Bars
  • Blue Puff Cubes

An official menu has not been announced for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, but I think it is safe to assume at least the Fuzzy Tauntaun and Carbon Freeze will be on the menu at Oga’s Cantina. Fun Fact: Oga’s Cantina will be the first location to serve adult beverages to the park guests over the legal drinking age at Disneyland Park. There may be a few more hints as to what you may find at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, including a bargain struck between a certain wookie and a notorious pirate. Maybe in relation to the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run perhaps?

Could New Star Wars Stories Contain Clues to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge?

If these hints and clues are to be believed, we can expect some great immersive offerings that will be available to guests visiting both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Be sure to check out the new books and comics for yourself to learn more about Batuu, Black Spire Outpost, and the Star Wars Universe in general.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is slotted to open in June 2019 at Disneyland Park and will open Late Fall 2019 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.
