Growing up, I watched the original Star Wars trilogy almost every day. I could quote the movies line for line, and even dressed up as my favorite Princess (Leia) while I would watch! So, when I heard that Disney Cruise Line offers a Star Wars Day at Sea on select cruises, I was completely on board. Just seeing the Disney Fantasy is a dream come true, and knowing I was about to be on the ship was so exciting!
From the moment we checked in for the media preview, we were surrounded by Star Wars music, and were patrolled by Storm Troopers and an officer from the Empire. Once onboard the ship, we saw amazing photo opportunities, including this hard-to-find photo op with Han Solo in Carbonite!
As we enjoyed the stunning décor of the Disney Fantasy, all of a sudden we found ourselves in the middle of a takeover by the Empire! An Imperial Officer announces their control of the ship while Storm Troopers patrol the crowd looking for rebel scum. The Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader, even makes an appearance to warn those considering joining the rebellion. How exciting!
There are even some amazing Star Wars activities on board, including a brand new Porg scavenger hunt, Star Wars drawing lessons, and for the force-sensitive younglings – Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.
Also for the padawans, there is a Star Wars area in Disney’s Oceaneer Club where they can fly a starship simulator, meet BB-8, and even test their powers in the force!
If you were wondering about the flavors of the force, the amazing Disney chefs have even crafted a Star Wars menu to make sure that you can taste the experience as well.

The exclusive Star Wars Day at Sea merchandise is so stunning! The design is a beautiful representation of the balance between the dark side and the light, while offering a good variety of products to celebrate your journey. There is also an amazing Star Wars makeover for kids and adults to really help get into character!
The day ends on the deck with “Summon the Force,” a celebration of the guest’s love for Star Wars, including a dance party, music, and games. To top it all off, the night ends with an amazing Star Wars performance (including stunts!), and an out of this world fireworks spectacular set to the incredible music from the saga we all know and love. My only question is: how soon can I go back?
