Star Wars Batuuan Spira Credit Medallion

The Black Spire is home to many unique collectible items, one of the newest, rarest items is a currency of sorts. The Batuuan creatures and visitors are spending in style with this new Star Wars Battuuan Spira Credit Medallion. Essentially it is a gift card, but so much more stellar than a plain old card, it’s a coin. You can locate these rarities over in Hollywood Studios Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. These medallions as they are being tokened, are actually free reloadable gift cards, but in order to get your hands on one, you must load $100 on to it and can be used wherever Disney gift cards are accepted.

The design is rather interesting. This isn’t just your average plastic gift card. It is supposed to be something out of this world, from a galaxy far away.  Its a souvenir in it of itself. Its made out of metal and has a warn, brushed gold patina to it, like its seen many transactions in its day. On the medallion, there is the logo for the Black Spire and B.S.O. in Aurebesh.  Its got a little weight to it, but not too heavy to carry around. The shape is even a unique elongated hexagon. It also has an intricate sleeve for safe keeping.

In the Spire, they use “credits” so this fits the theme of the land.  It is fun to immerse yourself in the land even further using the local currency.  It helps bring the authenticity of Batuu alive. At this time it is uncertain if these will become more widely attainable, but I don’t believe that is the intention. They are only even located at one shop throughout the land that you must seek and search for. They are more of a piece to covet and treasure. I know I will be on a mission to locate one this week.
