Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse First Trailer has Arrived

The Spider-Man trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 2018’s Animated superhero film has finally arrived, and it appears that Miles Morales will have his hands full when the film arrives in theaters on June 2, 2023. While he may not be the “one and only Spider-Man”, Miles Morales certainly won the hearts and minds of moviegoers in this Academy Award-winning Spider-Verse franchise. Miles will reunite with Gwen Stacy and team up with other Spider-people to save the world as we know it.

Spider-Man : Across the Spiderverse gives us a deeper look into the spider-verse.

The trailer opens with Miles and his mother Rio having a conversation about how much she (Rio) loves her son. Rio shares her expectations and dreams for Miles’s unwritten future, and the audio plays underneath imagery from the first film’s epic moments. We see once again the transition of Miles Morales from underachieving high school phenom to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The recap treats Marvel fans to a cameo image of the beloved Marvel creator Stan Lee.

All this nostalgia soon gives way to exciting new footage from the Spider-Verse showing dozens of spider people offering us a first true look at the inner workings of the spider-verse. The trailer is filled with easter eggs and cameos.

Fans are treated to an audio snippet from Oscar Issac who says “Who do you think you are, really?” We have a sneaking suspicion that this film will begin to answer that question directly as Miles continues his journey of self-discovery as the beloved superhero.

This first trailer doesn’t share any of the film’s plot; save for the multiversal chaos we expected was on the horizon as the first film concluded. Either way, we will be there when the film drops on June 2, 2023 exclusively in theaters.
