Space Mountain in Disneyland Closing for Refurbishment

Next month, Space Mountain in Disneyland will be closing for refurbishment. The attraction will close on September 18 and will re-open “mid-fall”.

The coaster will close on September 18th for refurbishment but there is no set reopening date. The Disneyland website says the ride will reopen in “mid-fall 2023”.

The refurbishment is most likely just for regular maintenance but the timing would also line up for bringing back the “Ghost Galaxy” holiday layover. Disney has not announced that the layover will be returning this year and it hasn’t been installed in several years. While we’re hopeful Disneyland will bring back “Ghost Galaxy”, chances are slim it will return after this refurbishment.
