Next week Southwest Airlines will resume serving alcoholic beverages. The airline suspended the sale of alcoholic drinks in March of 2020 when the pandemic started. Passengers will be able to purchase them once again starting February 16.

Passengers will be able to purchase beer, wine and hard liquor. The airline’s non-alcoholic beverage service will also be expanded on Feb. 16 to include options such as tonic water, Coke Zero and hot chocolate.

“Customers have expressed a desire for more beverage options, so we’re delighted to restore additional on-board offerings as a part of the Southwest hospitality that our customers know and love,” said Tony Roach, vice president of Southwest customer experience and customer relations.
Flights of 176 miles or more will offer the beverage service.
