I am planning our Disney World vacation for next year, we try to go every year if the budget permits. As always I start the planning process 6 months out. Most times I am at the Disney Website 2 and 3 times a week checking for specials, signing up for sweepstakes, and pricing out different vacations. This year I wanted to check out the various Disney Authorized Vacation Planners I have listed on the Chip and Co website.
Last week I find out about the “Buy 5 get 2 Free” and the “Buy 4 get 3 Free” special Disney is running. I think we were one of the first websites to get the info through special secret Disney Channels. Just kidding I learned about it from Mouse Savers! So as soon as I get the news I goto all the Vacation Planners websites and request a quote.
Mouse Savers recommended Small World Vacations which must be a good sign. Most sites have a automated service telling you we got your info, well get back to you, yada yada yada. The first real email I get is from Dawn at Small World Vacations. So right off this is one MAJOR plus for them! She emails me the price quote and tells me about the deal Disney is running. I didn’t have to explain the deal to her she was up on the news which is another BIG plus.
About a day later the other quotes start flooding in, which I am not knocking the other sites, they all have great Disney Agents, but if you want fast service Small World Vacations wins that category.
Now back to my reservation. I emailed Dawn back to adjust the dates, “no problem” she says and emails me the new quote. All the quotes are in and they are the same price, if you have ever priced out a Disney trip you know Disney Authorized Vacation Planners don’t offer a discount but do offer you service and support for your trip.
So at this point we are ready to put our deposit down and reserve our room. I ask Dawn to call me to make the reservation. We talk on the phone about Disney and I ask questions about the resort and planning. She doesn’t skip a beat and you can tell she knows her stuff. It was a very relaxed conversations and I felt comfortable the whole time.
We make the reservation and she offers to make the ADR reservations for me, which for me is a BIG step, if you have seen on the site I am a huge nerd when it comes to Advance Dining Reservations. She just told me to tell her where we wanted to go and what time and she would take care of it. We have a few weeks to wait still so we will see how that goes…
After I get off the phone with her I notice I have an email in my inbox. It is my reservation! She asked me to check it over and see if I can find any mistakes. She put down Chip instead of my real name..forgot to mention that to her. I ask her to call me to make the change and a few minutes later my phone is ringing. We make the changes I get the follow up email and we are 1/2 way there.
I feel really bad…. about a week later I am undecided do we want to stay at the Pop Century for the Buy 5 get 2 Free or do I want to upgrade to the Buy 4 get 3 Free at the Caribbean Beach Resort. So off goes another email to Dawn asking her to call me. About 30 minutes later I am on the phone again asking if I could upgrade my trip. I was expecting a sigh from her but no she is checking the prices and availability as we speak! I swear this is the last change I will make but another plus for Small World Vacations and Dawn for not batting an eye at my many changes.
We find the room and she goes over the price increase and says she will take care of it for me. It is so nice not to have to call up Disney and have to do all the leg work. My hats off to her and dealing with me and my OCD…lol
As I am writing this article I see an email from Dawn in my inbox with the changes. All I can say is Small World Vacations service is excellent and I am so glad they have agents who excel at customer service! When it comes time for you to book your trip take it from someone who knows Disney inside and out. Check these guys out and you won’t be disappointed.
