Permit Points to Changes at Sir Mickey’s Ahead of Fairy Godmother Visits
Fantasyland is about to get a little more pixie-dusted. A new permit has been filed for Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom, and the timing couldn’t be more magical.
According to the filing, work will include scenic and prop elements along with new audio and lighting. The project is assigned to longtime Disney vendor Jon Richards Company. Inside the shop, guests may have already noticed the PhotoPass studio behind curtains, suggesting this area could be the focus of the refurbishment.

Sir Mickey’s is currently home to costumes, apparel, and accessories, and has long doubled as the photo destination for families after their Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique transformations. But with changes coming to the boutique, it looks like the shop is set for its own royal refresh.
This fall, the Fairy Godmother herself will begin making appearances at the boutique — a new layer of magic for young royals. At the same time, Disney is preparing to roll out simplified makeover packages, streamlining the current menu that ranges from knight costumes to signature princess experiences.

While Disney has not confirmed details, it’s possible that Sir Mickey’s will serve as the setting for Fairy Godmother meet-and-greets, replacing the Royal Portrait Studio space. With the permit now in motion, the timing lines up for updates to be ready just as the Fairy Godmother begins greeting guests.
