Sip Savor and Stay at the Swan and Dolphin

Sip Savor and Stay at the Swan and Dolphin

We were recently invited to check out the Sip, Savor, and Stay event at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotel. It was an evening with some great food, drinks, and live entertainment!

Sip, Savor, and Stay took place of the annual Food & Wine Classic, which typically takes place around this time of year. They broke down Food & Wine Classic into different weekends, each with their own theme. The Bubble Lounge, Beer Garden, Italian Wines and Bites, Smokin D’s Bourbon, Beer, and BBQ, Oktoberfest Biergarten, and Food & Wine Classic Limited Edition.

The event we attended was Food & Wine Classic Limited Edition, guests who attended this event could buy tickets to attend just the event or buy a package to stay the evening at the resort as well. It was a fun way to try a variety of food and beverages and check out the resort!

When we first arrived it felt very spacious, the event was hosted in the ballroom area- most of the tables and stations were located in the main ballroom along with the band. But there were tables in the smaller ballrooms as well as outside for guests to enjoy as well. Check out the live stream from the event here.

The live entertainment was spectacular! They played a great variety of music and really added to the mood of the evening. The songs they covered ranged from classics like Earth, Wind, and Fire to artists in the top 100 today!

At the event, we were lucky enough to try every dish they had available, and a variety of wine, beer, and champagne.

First, we tried the dish from Bluezoo, they had a seared sustainable salmon with caramelized savory cabbage, topped with slices of asparagus and dijon cream.

Next was Shula’s Steakhouse- here we tried the rib roast (from a carving station) with roasted fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, pearl onions, with red wine sauce.

This next dish from Cabana Bar & Beach Club might’ve been our favorite of the night! It was an Arkansas “BLT,” a fried green tomato with double-smoked bacon, iceberg lettuce, and pimento cheese! It came in a small to-go box, so it was a perfect grab and go food item!

Some of the food stations looked like mini food trucks, like Frida’s Kitchen! (Which you can view in our live stream video!) They served a chile colorado bowl with green chile braised duroc pork, steamed rice, pickled apple-cabbage slaw, and crispy chicharrones.

From ll Mulino came cocoa chitarra pasta with cauliflower alfredo sauce and parmesan cheese, this was their vegetarian option for the evening!

The last savory station was also one of our favorites of the evening, from Smokin’ D’s BBQ they served sorghum glazed heritage pork collar, braised greens, white corn spoon bread, and caramelized brussel sprouts.

There was no way we could end the night without dropping by the dessert station! There they had three different desserts, a banana foster, chocolate raspberry mud pie cake, and cookies, and milk! The ‘milk’ was a chocolate chip cookie panna cotta with milk sauce! Such a fun and creative dessert, it brought back childhood memories but with an elevated twist!

The entire evening was a total blast! We wanted to say thank you for hosting us and that if you’ve ever thought about attending Food & Wine Classic you should definitely keep your eyes open for this event next year! Maybe they’ll keep Sip, Savor, and Stay as well- if so, we definitely recommend this event too! It’s a great way to spend time with friends and try high-quality dishes in a fun and intimate setting!

Did you attend Sip, Savor, and Stay this year? What did you think!? Let us know!

Disney has been doing a lot of work to create replicas of what would normally happen on property like this event, and even character interactions while socially distancing. One of the best ones we’ve seen so far is Cinderella at Fairytale Princess Hall! Check it out!
