Sidewalk Outside Test Track Demolished for Refurbishment
We recently visited Test Track in EPCOT and noticed that construction is well underway. The old concrete entrance area has been demolished, and a plastic tarp and structural support boards are now visible.

The entire attraction is undergoing a major reimagining, with the entrance area being completely redesigned. The canopy was removed last month, and pavement work is now in progress. Exterior progress has been somewhat limited due to the recent rain Orlando has received.
The entrance area now appears to be a network of wooden frames with steel rods, likely serving as structural support. It’s unclear whether the plastic tarp is a remnant from recent rain or a precautionary measure against Hurricane Helene. In either case, the tarp is providing additional protection to the newly installed structures.
It’s possible that these structures are part of the framework for the future entrance canopy. This new canopy is expected to be significantly smaller than the previous one.
Test Track is set to reopen in 2025, marking its second major update. The original version debuted in 1998, replacing World of Motion. It underwent a significant transformation in 2012, becoming Test Track 2.0. The upcoming version, Test Track 3.0, will pay homage to World of Motion and showcase innovation throughout history, present, and future.
