Last month we shared that the Shrek 4D attraction at Universal Orlando was permanently closing. Walls have been placed around the attraction and rumors have suggested a Minion attraction will be put in the space.

A new ‘Notice of Commencement’ may have confirmed these rumors. The rumors floating around say a Minions-themed moving walkway attraction is coming to the old Shrek 4D building. Guests are given blasters to shoot at targets as they move through scenes, all while standing on the moving walkway. The attraction would take place at Villain-Con, a location from the Minions film.

The notice of commencement was filed for work to be done on Building 40, which was the home to Shrek 4D. Glidepath Limited is listed on the notice as the contractor for “equipment installation”. Glidepath Limited is a company that designs and installs moving walkways.
Universal Orlando has not announced what attraction will be replacing Shrek 4D but the rumors seem to be confirmed by permits filed. We also don’t know when the new attraction will open. There’s a good chance it will be early 2023 before it opens.
