Shanghai Disney Resort Turns 10 with a Sparkling “Magic+” Celebration You Won’t Want to Miss

Yes, Hercules is finally flexing his way into Shanghai Disneyland, and Miguel is stepping into a major park role, giving this show some serious star power.
The beloved “Mickey’s Storybook Express” parade is also getting a birthday glow-up, complete with a charming new Duffy and Friends pre-parade float shaped like a golden ship. Meanwhile, a high-energy Zootopia float crashes the party with Gazelle’s concert bus, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and a full-on street party vibe that practically demands you dance along.
When the sun sets, “Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration” returns with extra sparkle, featuring a new finale where Mickey appears in a dazzling magician look. Add in fireworks, fountains, lasers, and a brand-new Wish-inspired sequence with Asha and Star, and you’ve got a nighttime spectacular that feels like pure Disney stardust brought to life.
The celebration isn’t just about shows, it’s a full sensory feast. Special anniversary menus feature noodle dishes inspired by Chinese birthday traditions, alongside returning fan-favorite snacks and brand-new collectible souvenirs. The merchandise lineup is the largest in the resort’s history, including an interactive Magic Wand that lets guests “collect magic” throughout the park like a real-life sorcerer in training.
Characters are also dressed for the occasion in shimmering new outfits inspired by wishing stars, while décor across the park, hotels, and Disneytown glows with hidden “10” details and magical touches. There’s even a digital experience called “My Magic Star,” where guests can create personalized stars, unlock in-park surprises, and keep the celebration going long after they leave.
