In celebration of the opening of its first major expansion after its grand opening, Shanghai Disney Resort will soon launch special travel experiences celebrating the new Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land, opening on April 26. Through a collaboration with China Eastern Airlines, air passengers traveling to and from Shanghai will get a special touch of the story and experience, bringing the playful spirit of Shanghai Disneyland’s new Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land beyond the resort and into airports, flights and more. The first Toy Story themed flight will take off on April 28, just two days after the grand opening of the new land. In addition, four new themed trains on Shanghai Metro Line 11 will delight guests from near and far as they take the metro to and from the resort.

From check-in at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to exiting at their destination, guests will encounter a variety of unique decorations and other immersive elements that highlight the new experiences, characters and attractions launching at the resort. Starting April 28 for a limited time, passengers will find themed designs and décor at kiosks, in the terminal and on their tickets, bringing the playfulness of the new land into their pre-boarding experience.

A China Eastern Airlines plane will be decorated with iconic elements from Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land, including an oversized image of Buzz Lightyear on the exterior. Colorful graphics and visuals inside the plane will illustrate the playfulness of the land — from the headrest to the cabin storage to the exits, and beyond. New interactive online games and seatback tray liners, plus other surprises throughout the flight, will provide travelers with a fun introduction to the new land, highlighting new attractions including Rex’s Racer, Slinky Dog Spin and Woody’s Roundup.

Shanghai Disney Resort has also launched special Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land themed decorations on Line 11 of the Shanghai Metro. The celebratory metro trains feature colorful oversized pictures of popular characters, making passengers feel as if they are surrounded by the lovable toys as they ride to Shanghai Disney Resort, as well as through the city in fun toy fashion.

Inspired by the playful spirit of the new land, the specially decorated plane and trains take an every-day activity like travel and transform it into a Disney magical experience, giving guests the chance to engage with and learn about the new land and inviting them to come experience the fun of the new world of toys at Shanghai Disney Resort.
