From packing boxes of food for Second Harvest and building KABOOM! playgrounds for children, to collecting items for Toys For Tots, Disney VoluntEARS work with numerous nonprofit organizations in Central Florida all year long that share Disney’s commitment to improve the lives of children and families in the local community.
During these uncertain economic times, many of these organizations are experiencing a record demand for their services. The holidays provide an opportunity for Walt Disney World Resort to shine a spotlight on some of the amazing work these organizations accomplish, the impact they have in our community and ways local residents can support them.
“We hope that by telling the stories of just a few of our Disney outreach efforts and the organizations we support, we can showcase the needs of these outstanding groups and inspire others to support them,” said Nancy Gidusko, director of Walt Disney World Community Relations. “These are organizations that are creating a brighter future for the children of Central Florida, and that benefits everyone.”
Throughout the holiday season, a series of “Season of Sharing” articles and images will be posted online at waltdisneyworld.com/about with links to the organizations highlighted.
