According to AJ at the Disney Food Blog, Animal Kingdom updating some of the menus with great success! Restaurantosaurus, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Pizzafari all had a menu makeover and have some very appealing new options to try out. These are already up and running and ready for the Disney “foodie” in all of us to review.
Restaurantosaurus
Restaurantosaurus had a significant menu change, adding several new items:
Chicken BLT Salad (priced at $9.19) With a very light ranch dressing, this is perfect on a hot day! Crisp greens with chunks of tomato, baked chicken strips, bites of bacon, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese.
Chicken Sandwich (priced at $9.59) The chicken sandwich has a tomato bruschetta topping with hints of basil and garlic, along with bacon bits and shredded cheddar cheese! This sandwich is served hot and is “just a perfect combination, thoroughly enjoyable!” says a Disney Food Blog reviewer.
Specialty Hot Dogs There are two new hot dog menu items as well.
First, the standard chili and cheese dog (priced at $9.59) is topped with jalapeno pepper rings and corn chips, making it appealing to those who might like their entree a bit spicy!
Second, the very original macaroni and cheese dog (priced at $8.79), topped with a sprinkle of bread crumbs.
Flame Tree Barbecue
Over at Flame Tree, there’s an updated salad and kids’ entree to try…
Flame Tree Barbecue Salad (priced at $8.99) According to the Disney Food Blog reviewer, Flame Tree Barbecue has changed their signature salad to one that is packed with crispy lettuce, garbanzo and pinto beans, cheddar cheese, corn, and crispy tortilla strips coated with their signature spice rub! They dress the salad with a balsamic dressing that also has hints of BBQ.
Kids’ Barbecue Chicken Sandwich This chicken sandwich is the new kids’ offering at Flame Tree. It includes fresh breast of chicken with their signature rub, and topped with lettuce and tomato.
Pizzafari
Pizzafari Pasta and Chicken Salad (priced at $9.25) Whole wheat pasta, chunky roasted vegetables, oven dried tomatoes, and fresh leafy spinach tossed with the oven dried tomato dressing. The herbed chicken is moist, and the dressing is light.

The Pizzafari Pasta and Chicken Salad sounds amazing! This looks like the continuance of Disney trying out some healthier options. I also like that they are changing up the kids menu because it wasn’t very varied before.
Looks like a great set of new selections. Can’t wait to try these on our next trip.
