See Pandora – The World of Avatar Come to Life After Dark

One of the most exciting elements about Animal Kingdom’s new Pandora – The World of Avatar expansion which will open to the public beginning May 27th, is that this area of the park magically transforms when the sun sets into a bio-luminescent wonderland.

Our very own Chip was lucky enough to spend a late night at Pandora this week and we are so excited to share with you some of the amazing nighttime views you’ll be able to enjoy.

Let’s start with the gorgeous floating mountains which at night come to life with rich purple and green hues that give it an otherworldly feel.

Disney insiders have also been wowed by the ground which shines a beautiful green and even responds as guests move across its surface.

And let’s not forget about the flora and fauna of this remarkable land where Pitcher Plants glow under the cover of darkness.

The details are absolutely breathtaking as surroundings take on a very alien like quality.

After seeing these amazing nighttime photos, we definitely think that Pandora – The World of Avatar is an area that guests will want to explore both during the day time when it’s brimming with life and energy and again after sunset when the land magically transforms into a nighttime playground.

To provide guests with a chance to really experience the evening beauty of Pandora, Walt Disney World will be offering on-site resort guests the opportunity to attend special Extra Magic Hours.   These late night park hours will take place from 11:oopm – 1am from May 27 – July 4, 2017.  Valid theme park admission and Resort ID will be required at the time of entry. The offer is open to all on-site resort guests as well as those staying at the Swan and Dolphin.
