Star Wars Fans are eager to see more content following Luke Skywalker’s adventures between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, with many fans noting that Marvel Studios star Sebastian Stan could easily take on the role. Several fans have photoshoped images and created mock-ups of Sebastian as Luke and most fans agree that the likeness is uncanny and beyond passable for mainstream use if Lucasfilm decide to dive deeper into Luke’s story.

Sebastian is no stranger to this fan casting and recently shared with Esquire that he is open to the role if Lucasfilm is willing. Stan told Esquire, “Look, it’s really kind. Never say never,” he jokingly added, “Mark Hamill is my father, you know, and he knows that, and I call him every Christmas to tell him, ‘Just want you to know I’m around.

Hamill himself has given his stamp of approval if Lucasfilm decides to venture into Luke’s stories, with Mark previously sharing, “He’s [Sebastian Stan] a wonderful actor. People say, ‘Will you support him to be the young Luke Skywalker when they make those movies?’ And I thought, he doesn’t need me. He’s an accomplished enough actor to get it on his own. And I shouldn’t put my thumb on the scale because it’s not my choice. It’s Disney and Lucasfilm, and I don’t want to cut short any other potential Lukes… But I’d love to work with him. Heck, I’d play his father any day.
