This season promises to be bigger and bolder, with the Doctor, played by the charismatic Ncuti Gatwa, embarking on an “epic quest” to return Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) to Earth. However, a mysterious force is thwarting their efforts, forcing the TARDIS team to confront “great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.”
One of the most anticipated guest appearances comes in the second episode, featuring the return of Emmy® Award winner Alan Cumming to the Whoniverse. This time, Cumming trades his royal robes from “The Witchfinders” for the whimsical persona of Mr. Ring-a-Ding, a seemingly cheerful cartoon character.

Mr. Ring-a-Ding, residing in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally, suddenly breaks free from his animated world in 1952, with chilling consequences. Showrunner, executive producer, and writer Russell T Davies couldn’t contain his excitement, stating, “Only Alan Cumming could give a runaway cartoon so much wit, malice, danger and fun. He makes the whole universe of ‘Doctor Who’ wilder and madder than ever, and it’s an absolute honour to welcome him on board the TARDIS.”

Alongside Gatwa and Sethu, Millie Gibson returns as Ruby Sunday, adding to the dynamic of the TARDIS crew. The season also boasts a stellar guest cast, including Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Anita Dobson, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave, and Susan Twist.
Behind the scenes, the creative powerhouse of Russell T Davies leads the charge, with executive producers Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner, and Jane Tranter ensuring the series maintains its signature blend of heart, humor, and thrilling sci-fi adventure.
