Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Donate $1 Million Towards Coronavirus Relief. Celebrity power couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are working hard to help with relief efforts for those who are dealing with the ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic. Both Ryan and Blake have decided to donate $1 Million that will be split between charities Feeding America and Food Banks Canada to help aid low income families and elderly citizens of the USA and Canada who may not have access to fresh nutritious foods during the coming weeks of quarantine.

Blake and Ryan have shared their donation if hopes that others who can afford to do so follow their lead and help those who need it most in this time of need. Blake shared to Instagram:

“Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families. Ryan & I are donating $1 million to be split between [Feeding America] and [Food Banks Canada]. If you can give, these [organizations] need our help. Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don’t have the opportunity to self quarantine, we can stay connected. Remember the lonely and isolated. FaceTime, Skype, make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all of this. Communities are stepping up – shopping for the elderly, making lunches for children. We can all do something for one another, even if that’s simply staying home. Sending so much love. Now can someone please tell Ryan that “emotional distancing” from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him.”

Ryan Reynolds shared a similar message on Twitter, and naturally had to end on a jab towards his celebrity best friend, Hugh Jackman.

“Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families. Black & I are donating $1 million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. If you can give, these [organizations] needs our help. Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection. (Hugh Jackman’s # is 1-555- [Sad Emoji] – HUGH)”

Ryan is also the new owner of Mint Mobile and shared an important update with current and new customers. The announcement says:

“The last few days have thrown the world into an unprecedented moment of uncertainty where reliable communication is of the utmost importance. Today through 4-14, we will be providing all current & new customers with free unlimited high-speed data add ons.”

We are glad to see celebrities and companies stepping up to help during this time of uncertainty and love that it is coming in many forms. Some are donating to charity like Ryan and Blake, Disney is donating all the unused food from it’s parks and resorts to Second Harvest Food Bank to help support their communities, others still aiming to entertain fans despite not being able to record in studios or on set like Josh Gad who is reading bedtime stories to kids via his Twitter account. It is just so heartwarming to see folks rallying together to help everyone get through this rough season.

What are some of your favorite stories of hope coming out of this pandemic? We would love to hear about them in the comments! Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney related.
