Disney announced yesterday that they will be undergoing some magical enhancements in the RunDisney racing department for the upcoming Race Season.
One of the biggest changes that runners will see is that finishers of the 5k races as well as the kids races will no longer be receiving rubber medals, but in fact, will now be getting “metal” medals! Disney offered up some photos of a few of the upcoming 5k medals, and we’re very excited about them:
In addition to the new medal styles, Disney also announced that starting with the 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, all event guides will be digital. They will be easily accessible from any device – computer, tablet and a smartphone. The event guides will be able to provide the most up to date race weekend information. The first digital event guide will be live soon on runDisney.com.

This is something I didn’t even know was a thing! Although, I am glad to read about it because I signed up for my first 5k ever for the Princess run. I probably would have been a little dissapointed with a rubber medal.
