Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Entrance Gets a Fresh New Look Ahead of Muppets Makeover

The transformation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is starting to look a little more in tune. The entrance archway leading into the coaster’s courtyard has now been painted gray to match the freshly repainted show building, giving the area a more unified look as Disney continues work on the attraction’s upcoming Muppets retheme.

The archway was previously a beige color, matching the former look of the attraction entrance. While most of the archway has now been updated, some of the original beige paint can still be seen near the base of the supports. The gate beneath the archway also remains beige for now, though it may receive its own coat of paint before the attraction reopens.

The lettering at the top of the archway still reads “G-Force Records Presents Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring,” but the “Aerosmith” name has been removed following the closure of the original version of the ride. With Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets set to debut in May, “The Muppets” is expected to be added to the marquee before opening day.

Other familiar details remain in place for now, including the lamps and G-Force Records signs on the sides of the archway. Inside the courtyard, the upside-down car has already received a groovy new makeover, and the large guitar is also being repainted as the attraction continues its backstage-to-center-stage transformation.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed earlier this year as Disney began reworking the high-speed indoor coaster from its Aerosmith theme into a new Muppets-inspired version. While Disney has not revealed every detail of the updated storyline, the exterior changes are giving guests their first visible signs of what is to come.

It looks like the Muppets are tuning up for their big Hollywood Studios encore, and this coaster makeover is hitting all the right notes so far.
