Rob Delaney To Return for Deadpool 3

Buckle up Deadpool fans: X-Force is back! Deadline is reporting Rob Delaney is returning to play Peter, the X-Force member who lacks any discernable power (other than the ability to pull off Kahkis and dad jokes) for Deadpool 3.

Delaney’s portrayal of Peter, an ordinary guy who responded to Deadpool’s recruitment call for the X-Force team despite lacking any superhuman abilities or exceptional skills, quickly became a favorite among fans. The mustache-laden dad vibe that Peter brought to the team provided some great contrast to the colorful chaos that defines the Deadpool universe.

Deadpool fans will recall Peter, along with most of the rest of the X-Force team, dying early in Deadpool 2 while attempting their first mission. As Deadpool cleans up the timeline at the end of the film, X-Force is saved from their fate thus allowing the characters to return for the 3rd film.

While the exact details of Peter’s role in the film remain under wraps, the casting of Delaney suggests that Deadpool 3 will feature X-Force in a major way. Delaney joins a packed cast that includes Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), and T.J. Miller (Weasel). Deadpool 3 will be the first film produced under Marvel Studios, with the first two produced by Fox prior to the Disney/Fox merger.

Deadpool 3 is slated to release in theaters on November 8, 2024.
