Rick Moranis May Come Out of Retirement for ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ Reboot. According to The DisInsider, Disney has approached actor Rick Moranis about joining the cast of ‘Shrunk‘, a new sequel of the popular film series ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids‘.
Though Disney has approached Moranis, it is currently unknown if the actor has signed on to the project, or is simply considering the offer at the moment. Rick Moranis would reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski, who accidentally shrunk his children and two of his neighbors children in the famous original film released in 1989.
Josh Gad (Frozen) is the only known casting choice at the moment and will play the grown up version of Wayne’s son, Nick Szalinski, for the new film. Shrunk is set to have a theatrical release (to be announced at a later time), and will not premiere on Disney+ as previously believed. Shrunk will begin filming some in Spring 2020.
