Rian Johnson says Dave Bautista Is the Greatest Wrestler-Turned-Actor Ever. Drax will go down as one of the best Marvel Studio characters ever when Guardians of the Galaxy comes to a finish. The man behind who portrays Drax, Dave Bautista, is being hailed as the greatest wrestler turned actor.
Dave Bautista aka Batista is a retired six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Wrestling from 1999 until 2019. Where he was respected as a Heel or a face. in 2014 he joined the Marvel Universe as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Appearing in 2 box office hits, a recently released Holiday special on Disney +, and his likeness will go down in Disney park history on Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Disney’s newest Roller Coaster ride.

Dave Bautista Is the Greatest Wrestler-Turned-Actor Ever
Rian Johnson, the director of Glass Onion, recently spoke to The Atlantic and spoke about Dave Bautista’s performance in this critically acclaimed movie.
“When I was writing [his character, a men’s-rights streamer named Duke Cody], I was picturing a scrawny dude who’s trying to overcompensate. When Bautista was brought up, I was instantly so smitten by the idea. I’ve been a very big fan of his dramatic chops as an actor.”
When asked if Bautista was the greatest wrestler turned actor Rian commented “I absolutely 100 percent agree. And I think somebody like [Paul Thomas Anderson] is going to give him a real part and is gonna look like a genius. As a person, Bautista is genuinely, immediately vulnerable when you meet him, and that’s what I was excited about. This is someone who has the physical trappings of someone who would play it big, but he actually brings sensitivity to the role.”
