Disneyland after dark 90s nite

Disneyland After Dark 90s Nite Reviewed

Last night we attended the Disneyland After Dark 90s Nite event. From rare characters to sweet treats, we had a pretty rad experience!

There were so many eats and drinks available for purchase, there was no way we could try them all! Here’s what we did get and what our rating is:

  • PB&J Beignet: This was a regular beignet filled with jam and dusted with peanut butter powdered sugar. It took us back to our school days eating PB&J for lunch. Delicious and 8 out of 10.
  • Sugar Cookies with Vanilla Confetti Dipping Sauce: These were served warm and were some of the best cookies we’ve had in a long time! The dipping sauce was literally the frosting on top of this snack experience. 10 out of 10.
  • Campfire Donut Skewer: Two donuts and two marshmallows on a skewer and drizzled with chocolate sauce. We have had better donuts from a convenience store. Did not enjoy these. 4 out of 10.
  • Sour Fruit Candy Churro: Disneyland always does a great job with specialty churros and this was no exception. Rolled in colorful sugar, drizzled with fruit sauce, and topped with little candies (most likely Nerds), this churro hit the spot! 9 out of 10.

Unbeknownst to us, the line for merchandise began hours before the event officially started with some guests being given wristbands allowing them to return later to purchase. We did not get our hands on any merchandise but there were multiple items exclusive to the event.

  • 90s Nite Long-Sleeve Crew Neck
  • 90s Nite short-Sleeve T-Shirt
  • Multiple pins
  • 90s Nite event pin
  • Max Goof mug
  • A Goofy Movie Loungefly Mini Backpack
  • 90s Character sketches (Powerline Max, Zurg, Timon, Quasimodo, etc)

All of the merchandise sold out except for a few select pins.

Almost all of the characters available to meet were listed on the Disneyland website along with the event guide. There were 2 characters not listed that were out meeting guests; Flik and Atta from A Bug’s Life! In total, there were a possible 26 characters to meet. There was also no way we could meet all of the characters during the event so we chose our priorities. Here are the characters we met:

  • Monkeys from Fantasmic (there were 4 total and they met guests in pairs)
  • Indiana Jones
  • Flik & Atta
  • Monterey Jack
  • Darkwing Duck
  • Scrooge McDuck
  • Launchpad McQuack
  • Huey, Dewey, and Louie
  • Baloo
  • Clopin

There were multiple entertainment spots throughout the park. Goofy and Max DJ’d a dance party in Tomorrowland. A DJ played 90s tunes from Tom Sawyer Island. There were two performances of “90s on parade” which showcased some favorite Disney parades from the 90s. 90s music was also playing throughout the park for guests to enjoy.

Overall, we enjoyed our evening at 90s Nite. There were multiple instances of miscommunication from Disney to guests regarding character meet & greets as well as purchasing merchandise. If you want to meet rare characters and enjoy some music from your favorite decade, this would be a great event for you. Otherwise, you could probably skip this after hours event.
